Band 6 Occupational Therapist- working with adults with learning disabilities

6 month locum position, part-time

  • You will be responsible for managing a case-load of service users with complex needs, using evidence based/person-centred principles to assess, plan and implement interventions
  • The team promotes a truly client-centred ethos and multi-disciplinary style of working. Close collaboration with families, carers and external stakeholders is required in order to enhance the health and well-being of people with learning disabilities
  • Based across Wokingham and Reading
  • Start date is ASAP, end date is March 2021
  • Working Pattern is 22.5 hours per week, Tuesday to Friday
  • Shift Pattern is 9.30-3.30pm (Tues-Thurs) and 9.30-4pm (Fri)

Specific Skills:
  • The successful candidate will be a confident and competent practitioner providing assessment, treatment, planning and therapy provision for adults with learning disabilities with complex needs.
  • Knowledge and experience around equipment provision and manual handling. Excellent communication and organisational skills are required, along with a creative and innovative approach to practice.
  • Access to a car is essential

Experience of working with this delightful client group in the community is desirable but applicants with an open mind and relevant transferable skills will be considered.
