A leading and independently owned IFA are looking for an Area Placements Manager who will be oversee the fostering placement service across their Southern region.

This role is fully remote (working from home) but the successful candidate will be required to travel at times across the South East England and ideally be within 2 hours communitng from their office on the London / Kent border

Responsibilities will include
  • Growing placement numbers across the South Hub to set targets
  • Provide line management to the placement team
  • Deputise as necessary for the Head of Placements
  • Oversee the responsibility for reporting on Placement performance within the South Hub Represent the placements function across the South Hub and ensuring smooth communication with management and social work teams in the associated regions
  • To manage and monitor the referrals process, from initial incoming referrals, liaising with local authorities and company social workers and managers to secure successful placements
  • Work in partnership with colleagues to provide the most appropriate service for looked after children and young people and foster families
  • To help and support with the completion of tender contractual submissions as necessary and appropriate
  • To support, contribute and help with foster carer recruitment as required

Applicants must be eligible to work within the UK and ideally have the following:
  • Be emotionally resilient and be able to work under pressure
  • Have strong negotiation skills and be persuasive
  • Management or supervisory experience
  • Understanding of budgets and finances
  • Strong Customer Services Skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to engage in a range of settings
  • Strong administrative skills and IT skills across all windows-based applications and ability to use database system for recording and reporting
  • A full driving licence and access to transport is essential, as is the ability to be flexible in your working hours and to be able to travel to regional hubs when required.

You will have prior experience of working in a similar role, ideally within an IFA with a good understanding of the fostering sector. It is not essential to be a qualified social worker for this role.

Salary is to £33,000 + benefits and home working
