Hartlepool's children services were last inspected in July 2018, when overall effectiveness was judged to be good by ofsten. Since then, the strong and stable senior management team has continued to improve the quality of social work practice for children who are subject to child in need and child protection plans. This is in spite of increasing demand for services.

About the role:

Maxium caseload of 25

Team of 6 other social workers

Working from home & condensed working week available

Duty rota of 1 week out of every 6


Carrying out initial / core assessments and reviews

Ability to work in partnership with both children and their families

Ability to work alongside other key practitioners planning for the best interest of children

Ability to work alone and part of a team

Ability to organise, prioritise own work and achieve deadlines

Work to a high standard of practice

Ability to problem solve liaising with other professional bodies where appropriate

Developing and implementing child centred care plans

Attending child protection and safeguarding meetings

Report writing

The successful candidate must:

Have at least three years previous experience of statutory children's Social Work within the UK

Have an up-to-date knowledge of the legal framework for children's Social Care

Be a qualified social worker

Be registered with Social Work England
