Qualified Sociology Teacher required for immediate start in Newport secondary school full time.

Your new school
This school is mixed 11 - 18 comprehensive school based close to the centre Newport with fantastic facilities. The school has over 800 pupils including a sixth form. They have a mixed intake of children, reflecting the diverse economic prosperity of the local area. The school are currently recruiting for a Sociology teacher until half term initially with likelihood of the role continuing long term.

Your new role
You will be responsible for teaching a timetable Sociology up to A level, full-time, Monday to Friday. You will also be required to have knowledge of business studies. Your role will include full teaching responsibilities including planning and preparation of lessons, marking, assessment, attending parents evenings and pastoral responsibilities for a form class.

What you'll need to succeed
You will be a qualified teacher registered with the Education Workforce Council. You will have previous experience of teaching Sociology at KS3 , KS4 & KS5 within a secondary school. You will have a passion for learning, helping pupils to achieve results and relationship building skills. You will also possess strong behaviour and classroom management skills. You share a commitment to safeguarding and hold a DBS check.
