SEN Teaching Assistant required for Salford SEN School

Your new company
This Outstanding Salford based SEN School is looking for an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant to fit into their passionate staff team and really 'hit the ground running'. This school caters for young people with a range of additional needs from 11 - 16. You will be based within a class for young people with Autism and will be required to support the whole class with their learning both inside school and within the community.

Your new role
Your new role as an SEN Teaching Assistant will require you to support whole class within an Autism class. This particular group can display relatively challenging behaviours, so previous experience of working with students with both Autism and challenging behaviour is essential. You will be part of a staff team and school that has the students at the heart of everything they do. The support they provide not only helps students within their school life, but also prepares them for life after education.This role is to start as soon as possible and will continue on a long term basis.

What you'll need to succeed
It is essential that you have SEN experience and you can back it up with examples and references. Passion for the role is vital and a desire to improve education and develop students learning will make you the ideal candidate for this role. Experience of de-escalation training, such as Team - Team or SCIP, would be ideal and the ability to manage challenging behaviour is essential. You are there to help drive these student's performance and support them in gaining the life skills needed to integrate into society. Your role may include outside activities inclusive of Sport and Horticulture. Drive and determination is needed in a demanding position where your hard work will provide benefits far beyond salary.
