Salary - £10-11 p/h

Our REED Further Education branch are currently working with a great college on an exciting new role in the North East.

As we have started the new academic year, we are looking for enthusiastic and experienced Support Assistants to join an established Residential College on part and full time, temporary basis.

Please note: The role will involve shift work, so you must be available for evenings, night shifts and weekends.

The College
  • Provides support to all students aged 16-25 who have high functioning Autism, and other related learning disabilities
  • Has designed support around each individual and through person-centred planning and on-going consultation, and respond creatively and flexibly to the persons changing needs and expectations.
  • Their domiciliary and supported living services reflect their core vision and values: Person Centred, Autism Specific, Independence, Friendships and Relationships, and achieving Ambitions

Mission Statement; “Raising aspirations and improving lives”

The Role:
  • The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting learners on a 1:1 basis in the residential college
  • Provide support with soft skills including independence, and managing positive behaviour
  • Provide personal care, and manage challenging behaviours effectively

What you will need:
  • Experience of providing personal care to those with high needs
  • Experience of working within a care environment
  • Maths and English at Level 2 or equivalent
  • DBS on the update service
