Support Workers required for Secondary SEN School in Salford

Your new company
Hays Education are currently working in partnership with an OUTSTANDING Secondary SEN School in Salford who are currently on the look out for staff with Support Worker backgrounds to support their students. This school caters for pupils aged 11-19 with Autism, Severe, Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties and require a member of staff to support within their school for the remainder of the academic Autumn term, potentially for longer.

Your new role
Your new role will involve supporting students with varying special educational needs within a classroom environment. You will assist them mainly with accessing their education through 1:1 support, behaviour management and reinforcing the Teachers classroom instructions. You will be working within classrooms of up to 10 students and up to 3 other Teaching Assistants. As this role is within a Specialist SEN School, all students with have varying levels of needs, mainly ASC/ ASD, PMLD or SLD.

What you'll need to succeed
The school feel someone with a support worker background, who has previously worked with young people with complex needs, would fit in due to your ability to support students with a range of needs with all aspects of day to day life. You must be comfortable delivering personal care if required. You will need a minimum of 3 months experience as a support worker / any similar role working with young people with complex needs. We must be able to obtain 2 graded references from this experience. You will ideally be available full time (Monday - Friday) and able to work between the hours of 8.30 - 3.30, however those who are only available part time are still encouraged to get in touch.
