  • Daily rate of £70 - £85 (depending on experience)

TimePlan Education are currently recruiting for a SEN Teaching Assistant / Special Needs Teaching Assistant to work in a small primary SEND school based in Northwest London. The role is a long-term, full-time opportunity to commence ASAP. The candidate will be responsible for one-to-one learning support, small groups, mentoring, progress coaching, behaviour reports and positive encouragement. The pupils have emotional and behavioural difficulties, meaning that the ideal candidate will be able to support them emotionally and socially, as well as with their academics. There is an increasing number of pupils with ASD and other complex needs.

Job Responsibilities
  • Supporting primary pupils 1:1 with a range of SEND including SEMH, ASD, and other complex needs
  • Ability to engage and support pupils with their learning
  • Strong behaviour management skills
  • Supervising and monitoring pupils' behaviour
  • Progress coaching and one-to-one sessions
  • Liaising with staff and parents

Job Requirements
  • Available full-time (5 days a week) and committed to their job
  • Ability to stay calm and de-escalate challenging behaviour
  • Ability to empathise with the needs of each individual pupil
  • Experience working with challenging behaviour is desirable
  • Valid DBS on the update service or be willing to apply for one
