Our Client is a big four consultancy firm with a global presence, operating in over 150 countries. This organisation works with many public and private companies spanning multiple industries. The advisory work that they cover spans across audit, Accountancy, tax, corporate finance and consulting.

On behalf of this organisation, AMS are looking for a number of Analysts for a 12-18 Month contract based in Ipswich.

Purpose of the Role:

Our Client has one of the largest Indirect Tax Groups in the UK, and is regarded within the firm as one of the leading and most successful service lines, with a reputation for being proactive, entrepreneurial, successful and fun to work with.

This is a position with Our Clients rapidly expanding Customs practice, providing tailored logistics and supply chain management solutions to full range of our clients, both internal and external. These solutions cover the breadth of logistics network from planning and sourcing to assembly, storage and distribution. They provide operational, infrastructural and advisory support to their clients to give them a holistic, custom service & offer our employees a changing, varied position.

As a Analyst you will be responsible for:
  • Working on a number of client engagements including client liaison and contact in addition to:
  • Allocation of Unique Consignment References (UCR) to client customs brokers, collecting all relevant information and maintenance of UCR portal.
  • Ensure all documentation is received with 48 hours of issue of UCR and record results
  • Update job files as per work instructions and enter data accurately into customs reporting system.
  • Checking all information available to process and submit declarations to HMRC
  • Create, process and submit import declarations to HMRC
  • Contacting clients to confirm information or chase missing documentation / data
  • Liaise with client and HMRC to resolve any import declaration related issues.
  • Run and deliver management reports as agreed in standard operating procedure
  • Using electronic filing software to maintain filing and archiving
  • Responsible for adhering to company policy and industry legislation on customs.
  • Cross checking work carried out by others in the team (peer reviews)
  • Maintain and comply with all Health, Safety and Environmental standards, to be aware of the Occupational Health & Safety Management System, OHSAS18001 and to appreciate the responsibility you have to adhere to the respective procedures.

What we require from candidates:
  • Able to demonstrate an experience or customer/client management skills.
  • Can evidence strong skills in time and resource management.
  • Experience of the customs environment is preferable, either through work or education experience, though not required.
  • Experience of working effectively and efficiently with MS Office
  • Attention to detail is important in this role.
  • Institute of Export qualification or equivalent is desirable.
