Camphill Wakefield is looking for a reliable and motivated Care Manager to join our team to cover a 12 months Maternity Leave

We are seeking an individual with drive and commitment who is seeking a new exciting challenge. The ideal candidate will have managerial experience and good leadership skills. This post really requires an individual who is focused and has the want to succeed; turnaround experience and an established record with previous CQC reports will be looked on very favourably. You will work in conjunction with a dedicated Senior Manager to improve the home and return to high standards of care provision.

This is a full time post working 40 hours per week , attracting a salary of circa £28,556.39 per annum.

About the role

As a Care Manager you will be proactive and provide a customised, responsive and high quality service to people with learning disabilities. You will be a frontline supervisor, supporting the manager to effectively manage a team of staff to deliver person centred, specialist services.

You will need to have a sound knowledge of person centred planning, rota planning and staff management/development. We would like to hear from you if you are a committed, flexible and enthusiastic team player who is able to coach and mentor a team of support workers. You will be IT literate and able to undertake some administration duties.

About you

You will need to have had proven experience of supervising and line managing staff, as well as experience of coordinating and planning a range of activities.

The successful candidate will have experience of dealing with challenging situations and of advocating in the best interests of individuals.

As the Care Manager you have responsibility for assisting in the management of a business and a team. As part of the leadership team you will be responsible for ensuring the whole facility operates effectively and of course ensuring we deliver the very best quality care.

Ensure the delivery of quality care - continually assessing our residents’ needs and wishes and developing the service to enhance their quality of life.
  • Assist the VP Care - deputise in the overall management of the care home as required.
  • Positively influence the reputation of the home - communicating professionally and warmly with visitors including family, friends and other external stakeholders.
  • Play an active role in ensuring compliance within the home - managing the implementation of company policies and regulatory requirements; striving to achieve the best possible care rating and other external recognition of quality.
  • Maintain clinical excellence - role models high standards care, ensuring legal, regulatory and best practice guidelines are followed.
  • Take on an active leadership role - you will need to be a visible leader in the home supporting the operation of a twenty four hour business.
  • Developing your people - oversee the induction of all new employees and participate in the training development of the team.
  • People management - play an active part in the recruitment, assessment and supervision of the team.
  • Support the manager in disciplinary proceeding as required.

The successful candidate will have the following experience and qualifications:

Skills/ Experience:

Ideally NVQ Level 4 minimum

Experience of working within a Care Home environment

Preferably 2 + years of managerial experience

Sound knowledge of CQC and Care Standards

Dynamic & Enthusiastic

Duties will include:

Overall responsibility of the home

Staff management/appraisals/Training/ Rotas and Schedules

Care plans/reviews/meetings

Candidates should have flexibility with working hours as this role may include shifts, evening and weekend work, occasional sleep-ins and some on-call duties in the event of an emergency.
