Title: Commercialisation Manager (FTC 12mths)

Salary: Circa £40,000

My client is one of the leading Shopping Centre organisations in the country. With a drive to be the recognised for its excellent service, hospitality and exceptional stores within their walls.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Commercialisation Manager to come and support this fantastic centre on a 12 month fixed term contract. The ideal person will come from a strong business sales background such as retail, hospitality or another sales focused role.Your role is to manage promotional activity within the Shopping Centre
Liaising with media agencies and brands to promote activity within the Centre with an emphasis on enhancing the customer experience. Implementing and monitoring budgets & forecasts, exploring opportunities to build on the current promotional mix and create a new and innovative retail environment.

The role requires a IOSH H&S qualification, equivalent or higher. You would be helping to maximise commercial success of the Centre through identifying, developing and optimizing new revenue opportunities while fully exploiting existing revenue streams, safety and keeping the business and brand strategy .

Key Responsibilities Include:
  • Pro actively focus on the generation of new business opportunities to generate income for the shopping centre from instigation to implementation.
  • Manage sales performance to meet or exceed set targets; cost and income.
  • Manage costs to ensure that the target cost to income ratio is met or reduced.
  • Ensure that all commercial activities comply with relevant legislation e.g. Fire Regularity Reform Act, Health & Safety at Work Act, GDPR etc.
  • Ensure the Commercialisation department complies with internal policies and procedures.
  • Negotiate the terms of each new commercial agreement, internally and with clients, close sales and process contracts.
  • Research to gain a clear understanding of clients' businesses and requirements.
  • Ensure close liaison with the Operations, Tenant Liaison, Marketing and Technical Services teams to understand operational involvement and requirements for events and activities.
  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with new and existing clients.
  • Provide clients with sales proposals that are both timely and professional in quality
  • Monitor and analyse financial information, assessing business risks and implementing solutions to address these where necessary.
  • Attend networking and local business groups to build links and keep up to date on local activities.
  • Manage external communications e.g. agencies, brands and suppliers.
  • Establish ways of operating more efficiently whilst maintaining / enhancing services.

Candidate Profile:
  • H&S qualification IOSH managing Safely or equivalent
  • Proven business to business sales experience
  • Strong commercial awareness
  • Proven experience retail or leisure
  • Understanding of marketing and events
  • Negotiation skills
  • Ability to network
  • Excellent communicator at all levels
  • Good numeracy skills
  • Proficient decision maker

Desirable Additions
  • Previous experience of developing commercial income in a retail/leisure environment
  • Knowledge of corporate responsibility and environmental issues
  • Achievement of other professional qualifications / awards relevant to the role
