Interim Compliance Manager job in Glasgow until March 2021

A leading government organisation are recruiting a newly created Interim Compliance Manager role, to support a new project as a result of COVID-19.

Your new role
The compliance team provides assurance on financial stewardship, on expenditure that has happened and investigates when things have gone wrong. It also considers what might go wrong before it does, in the design and implementation of robust control frameworks.

As Compliance Manager you will be responsible for ensuring the service is delivered whilst working on new programmes. You will be responsible for working with the business to understand the claim, payment and financial irregularity risks to the Skills and Training programmes; co-creating optimum control frameworks to manage risks including risk based and proportionate approaches to monitor payments made; and managing the delivery of a workplan and coordination of performance metrics to track delivery and results. You will take steps to investigate and improve identified areas and provide concise reports setting out results, themes and areas for improvement.

You will have an allocated portfolio of work and will quality assure the work of your team, including the consistency of how findings are treated and reported and will ensure the efficient delivery of all workstreams. Key work areas will be related to new Covid related skills and training interventions.

What you'll need to succeed
You'll be educated to degree level or have equivalent experience. You'll have demonstrable work experience in compliance, audit, regulatory or inspection roles and have a good understanding of financial processes and controls. Desirable criteria are qualified CCAB qualification and /or accredited Counter Fraud Specialist.

You'll have strong organisational and time management skills, able to multi-task and effectively prioritise and adjust workload to meet changing demands. With excellent analytical and communication skills with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail, you'll be self-motivated and able to work independently or as part of a team.

You'll be confident in your ability to make decisions, in mentoring and coaching team members and in forming effective relationships with team members, cross business team colleagues and training fund suppliers.
