The successful candidate must be flexible to work from various locations in Sussex

Working from home option: There will be the facility to work from home, but successful candidates need to start on site and will need to be able to come on to site whenever is required

Travelling: This will be involved within the Sussex area

Working days and hours: Monday to Friday, 37.5 hours per week, 9.00am to 5.00pm

Job Summary
  • Our client’s Programme is high profile nationally, regionally and locally, with robust reporting to NHS England. To deliver this vision, local health and social care providers within Sussex are committed to work flexibly and collaboratively to transform services. It has three main workstreams:
  • Our client will ensure that the right information flows along care pathways joining up different providers when they take the lead in delivering care for a particular person and reason. This will be known to practitioners as Direct Care.
  • Everyone in Sussex has their own personalised care record which will allow them to see their own health and social care information and communicate with the people caring for them. It will also contain a diary of appointments, letters sent from care providers, as well as care plans and personally tailored information to help people with long term conditions to take the lead in managing their own care.
  • Supporting this work is the Sussex Integrated Dataset, which uses depersonalised data to help us understand our population and those at greatest risk of poor health, design and run better services, and measure and improve our performance as an integrated health and care system.
  • The post-holder will work across the health and social care system and will manage communications and engagement for the Our Care Connected Programme and be responsible for project managing and coordinating the delivery, monitoring and reporting of activity within this remit.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

Communications & Engagement Strategy/Planning
  • Work with the Programme Delivery Manager and Communications and Engagement lead to develop and implement the communications and engagement strategy for the Our Care Connected Programme and associated workstreams.
  • Understand the vision and strategic aims for the programme and work with the Programme Delivery Manager to translate into plans and defined activities that are reflected in clear workstream delivery plans.
  • Research and write copy for channels such as newsletters, websites, presentations and Social media posts as part of campaigns that are created within workstreams
  • Setup and manage all virtual meetings with Patient forums and groups which includes creating collateral that will be used during the meetings

Managing Relationships
  • Employ effective communication, negotiation and influencing skills to enable stakeholder relationships that support delivery of key objectives. This includes
  • nurturing relationships with: external organisations to ensure effective system transformation within the programme;
  • work with wider NHS stakeholders (including the public) to ensure collaboration in the strategy; internal leaders and system-wide collegues to ensure effective development of systems, processes and activities.
  • Work with and manage external suppliers to procure required assets and channels

Financial and Resources planning
  • Support the procurement of identified products, equipment, services and facilities for the Communications and Engagement workstream to execute required services - from defining requirements to monitoring projects.
  • Constantly strive for value for money and greater efficiency in the use of these budgets and to ensure that they operate in recurrent financial balance year on year.

Project Management
  • Ensuring appropriate project management systems are set up to support programme controls and reporting.

General Duties and Responsibilities
  • To undertake any other duties at the request of the line manager, which are commensurate with the role including project work, internal job rotation and absence cover.
  • To adhere to the policies, values and procedures of the host CCG.
  • To undertake training as necessary in line with development of the post.
  • To participate fully in the development review (appraisal) process and undertake Continuing Professional Development as required.
  • To achieve and demonstrate agreed standards of personal and professional development within agreed timescales.
  • To participate in surveys and audits as necessary in order to enable the host CCG to meet its statutory requirements.
