Contract Hours: 37hrs

Salary: H4 SCP 41 - 46 £44,863 - £49,876 per annum

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a dynamic and motivated individual to manage our SEND complex needs social work team. The supporting Children with Complex Needs team is an amazing development opportunity for the right individual, supporting Children with Disabilities and families in the Blackpool area. It is also a rare opportunity to work in a field of Children’s Social Care that incorporates a wide array of social work procedures that are often only seen in specialist social work teams. It would be preferable if you have previous experience of working with children with disabilities in a social work capacity, however, consideration will be given to developing the existing skills and knowledge of the right candidate.

You will need to have robust knowledge of legal frameworks identified within the Children's Act and Children and Families Act 2014. Due to the range of responsibilities specific to Children with Disabilities and their families a good working knowledge of the following is essential:- Short Breaks legislation, Direct Payments, Carers Act, Leaving Care, PLO, safeguarding, children in our care, transitions planning and fostering and adoption procedures.

You will also need to have a generic understanding of general staff management functions associated with team performance. A recognised management qualification would be beneficial.

  • To manage the day to day practice and delivery of services by leading, directing and supporting a team of staff

  • Lead and oversee high quality practice and standards to drive continuous improvement within your team
  • Knowledge and experience of child protection and court proceedings
