Hands-on Healthcare are looking for experienced Mental Health Support Workers to work in Cygnet Hospital. Within one of the wards in the hospital is a PICU Service and deals with emergency and crisis admissions, this is the most intense unit within the hospital. This is to help people regain a sense of control so they can eventually return home, this means we are looking for flexible staff to join the team who can work under pressure in providing outcome focused support. Various hours and shifts available, including full time and part time.

We are looking for flexible staff, the hours available include both days and nights, worked over a 7-day rota, we are looking for committed and person-centred individuals to support and help the patients within the hospital. Full induction training will be provided however some experience of working in a similar setting is desirable as the circumstances of the people being supported will be complex. All appointments are subject to an enhanced DBS check and satisfactory references. Induction training will take place for 3 days on 3rd November 2020.

Roles and responsibilities

To provide practical empowering support to clients in an enabling way, when required, helping them to take medication in line with the support plan and standard operating procedures

To work in line with the agreed support plan for the individual, ensuring that goals are actively worked towards and developed,

To achieve the maximum level of independence for the individual.

To support the individual to learn to use small pieces of equipment and assistive technology as appropriate to maximise their independence.

To work in partnership with other internal staff. To undertake and follow relevant risk assessments to ensure work can be carried out in an environment that is safe and conducive to meeting the outcomes for the client.
