Bay Education are currently recruiting for an outstanding SEN teacher to work in our SEN Schools across Leeds.

The role will be on a supply basis working on long and short term contracts.

This position is best suited to teachers who have experience working with Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD) and Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD).

Students in the class will have an Educational Health Care Plan (EHCP). As a SEN teacher, you should be able to adapt your lessons and subject material to suit each student's ability. The SEN Teacher would:
  • Work with a small groups and on a 1:1 basis
  • Teach pupils with PMLD and SLD
  • Be supported by a team of full-time teaching assistants in class
  • Follow individual therapy plans and a modified national curriculum
  • Teach 40-minute lessons, these may be subject specific or across all subjects depending on the year group and ability of the class
  • Be responsible for ensuring all students achieve their highest potential
  • Tailor the learning environment and subject material to suit individual needs

The ideal candidate for this SEN Teacher role will:
  • Hold Qualified Teacher Status
  • Be a qualified teacher, comfortable teaching both at functional skills and foundation level.
  • Be experienced in, or comfortable working in an environment with students aged 5-11 with a variety of special needs, who present their own learning needs.
