Reed Education are looking for Child Care Associates/Residential Care Workers to join their residential team to work in residential settings across Cheshire West. Working on average 3 evenings per week, Monday-Thursday 2pm-10:30pm (28 hours per week). There is also 4 additional hours available for completion of supporting paperwork and administration (times TBC).

Your new role

You must have experience supporting children and young adults with ASD and Complex Needs as the role requires someone with the initiative, enthusiasm and ability to adapt and tailor their approach, whilst putting the students welfare first. You will be overseeing the care and development for a number of young people with ASD and Complex Needs. Daily duties are varied, from making beds and light cleaning, to writing formal placement plans, termly reports and annual reviews. There will be a mix of working independently as well as working with the team.

The residential provisions aim to provide students with the facilities and abilities to learn life skills such as food shopping, financial transactions, cooking and domestic duties- with a view to build their independence towards their future lifestyle. A large portion of your time will be spent undertaking activities such as bike riding, visiting local parks and attractions.

What you will need;
  • Relevant Teaching Assistant, SEN or Learning Support Qualifications
  • Experience supporting on a 1:1 basis, providing interventions or working with small groups
  • A passion for supporting SEN pupils with a variety of needs and ensuring they are able to overcome barriers to learning and engage in the curriculum
  • Dedication, initiative and resilience to overcome issues faced
