Early Years Support Worker
Location: Aylesbury

Early Help has a key role to play in ensuring children and families in need of early help receive that support in a timely and effective way.

About us
The Family Support Service (FSS) is part of Buckinghamshire Council’s Early Help offer and is a consent based service that provides amongst other things, targeted support to the whole family to effect positive change and improve outcomes for children and young people.

About the role
You will work directly with children, young people and their families, to support their development needs.

This will include supporting the delivery of a range of early year’s programmes and leading universal open access sessions at network family centres.

About you
You should have experience of working with vulnerable children, young people and families in the public, private or voluntary sector (such as Childcare, Health, Social Care, Youth Justice, Education, Youth Work or other relevant field).

You should have proven ability build rapport with children and adults and an ability to advise and guide clients to encourage development and access services to which they are entitled.

This role is customer-facing therefore the post holder is required to speak to members of the public, they must have the ability to converse at ease with customers and provide advice in accurate spoken English.

About the Business Unit
The role will be based within the Aylesbury locality team which covers the wider Aylesbury Vale geographic area.

We have 6 family centres from which we deliver Early Years support for families. These are:
  • Southcourt Family Centre Plus site
  • Elmhurst Family Centre
  • Berryfields Family Centre
  • Wing Family Centre
  • Steeple Claydon Family Centre
  • Buckingham Family Centre
