Student Centre Officer - £15.32ph plus Hol Pay - Central London

Start Immediately for two months initially

We are recruiting for an experienced Student Centre Officer who has worked with SITS, to join one of London's leading Universities. If you have previous experience in a similar post, we'd love to hear from you! You will be required to work in the office for part of the working week.

* You MUST have experience of using SITS in order to be considered as suitable for this post*


  • Respond to walk-in enquiries and requests for information and support from students, staff and the wider community visiting the Student Enquiries Centre
  • Respond, triage and track student email and online enquiry requests for information and support via the Student Enquiry and Case Management System
  • Maintain a comprehensive knowledge of the work in all sections of the departments, in particular Student Records and Student Support and Wellbeing
  • Providing information and support on behalf of these sections or referring enquiries to specialists in these sections as appropriate
  • Provide confirmation of enrolment documentation to current students and Statements of Award to former students and third party enquirers, in response to requests made in person at the Student Enquiries Centre, online and telephone within current service standards
  • Collect in and distribute documentation supporting the enrolment, progression and confirmation of award for students, including Biometric Residence Permits, viva and final copies of thesis submissions for postgraduate research students and degree certificates and transcripts
  • Check a student's Disclosure and Barring Service application form where required for their programme of study and verify the information in accordance with DBS guidelines

  • Working knowledge of the SITS student information system is essential
  • Knowledge of the SID student enquiry and case management system desirable
  • Understanding and appreciation of the importance of good customer service
  • Relevant employment experience in a customer focused environment
  • Good interpersonal skills
  • Self-motivation, enthusiasm and adaptability
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and Excellent interpersonal and team working skills
  • Meticulous and organised approach to work with an eye for detail
