Reed Education are looking for a History teacher to start asap, for 2 terms in the first instance, with potential to be considered for perm role in the future in East London

Initially will be working only with KS3, however there is potential for this to change in the longer term

Main duties include

Plan and teach History lessons to classes in years 7 to 11 that follow the agreed Departmental schemes of work and Department and Academy teaching guidelines.

Keep abreast of the relevant GCSE specifications and examination requirements.

Mark and assess pupils’ work in accordance with Department and Academy guidelines.

Use class and department assessment data to check the progress of pupils and, where necessary, to plan and implement academic interventions in accordance with Department and Academy practice and policy.

To contribute to the Department’s medium and long term planning to improve pupil outcomes

Must have

Experience of teaching in two schools, this could include PGCE placement schools

A keen interest in how pupils learn and experience of putting this knowledge into practice and an enthusiasm for developing the abilities of pupils A strong subject knowledge The ability to work as part of a team to develop strategies and materials to raise achievement in your subject An understanding of how assessment for learning techniques can be used effectively in your teaching

Confidence, imagination, drive and boundless enthusiasm Flexibility and adaptability A capacity for hard work and the ability to manage its pressures The ability to be self-critical A commitment to the safeguarding of children

QTS status

DBS on update service or willing to do a new one

Be able to give employment references for x2 years minimum

£120-170 per day dependant on experience
