Valuation Manager - Product Control - Global Bank - £450 PAYE / £550 Umbrella - 11 months+ extensions

The Valuations Team in Product Control is part of Global Product Control. Product Control undertakes four main activities: Valuations, Global Valuation Reporting, Quantitative Analysis and Quantitative Infrastructure Development.

The role of Manager Non-GM Valuations is a senior position within the Product Control Structure. Reporting into the Global head of Non-Global Markets Valuations. This is a significant role with considerable remit across several areas and a wide set of senior stakeholders across the firm.

The individual will manage valuations for Non-Global Markets businesses, including Strategic Innovative Investments (SII), Principal investments (PI), Syndication and other non-GM businesses. The role holder will have to independently drive conversations on valuations with these stakeholders who are responsible for their respective businesses. The individual will have oversight of an important Fair Value adjustment globally.

Your responsibilities will include:
  • Be part of the valuation team for Non-Global Markets Businesses with an oversight of
  • All IPV, FVA and Prudent valuation balances, methodologies and documentation;
  • Monitoring model restrictions and recommendations;
  • Specific engagement on the private equity portfolio of the Bank.
  • Assist the Global head, Non-GM Valuations in managing the valuation oversight on the various non-GM businesses. Ensuring appropriate governance and controls.
  • Stakeholder management of a set of senior and diverse stakeholders like global heads of businesses, COO’s, Group Treasury managers and Business Managers. Communication is key with the role holder being required to simplify a complex set of businesses and be the primary communication route to these stakeholders.
  • Support the building and development of strong collaborative relationships between Valuations and all relevant business functions.
  • Responsible for the governance and controls of fair value with responsibility for the valuation committees that opine on fair value.
  • Work to ensure consistency in policies/standards across sites/teams and implement strategies to improve consistency where it is not already in place.

Role Context:
  • This is a critical role that covers valuation processes in an area of strategic importance. This is a senior role that will run considerable adjustments to the P&L. The role will be responsible to set up centralized and standardized valuation processes.

Knowledge & Experience / Qualifications :
  • Understanding of the key work undertaken within the valuations group

  • Strong communication (both verbal and written) and presentation skills
