With the release of £1b of funding by the government for schools to bridge the attainment gap for affected by the COVID-19 pandemic, through the National Tutor Programme, demand for specialist tutors across all schools, primary, SEN and secondary, has never been higher.

With 15 hours worth of tuition subsidised by 75% for LA maintained schools per pupil, you could make a real difference in the lives of those whose education has been impacted the most. Your ability to teach in groups of up to 3, or online, will be vital in delivering learning and providing the pupils with support.

This role is located at a school in Mansfield, and would be taking KS2 children on a 1:3 basis, tutoring maths and English, so experience in those subjects and age groups would be a great benefit, but not required.

Responsibilities as a tutor:
Creating a positive learning environment through professionally planned lessons and classroom displays
Using imagination and innovation to enhance the learning experience of all pupils
Adhering to the national curriculum
Engage the children in fun and captivating lessons which leave them feeling as though they've achieved something
Child safeguarding
Adhering to school behavioural policy

Requirements for the role:
Relevant experience in tutoring at 1:1, 1:2, 1:3 ratio or online.
Some experience in EYFS, reception KS1 or KS2 classes, Secondary, GCSE, or post-16.
An up to date DBS, on the update service speeds the process along
A drive and passion for teaching children
Excellent communication, organisational and interpersonal skills
Being able to drive and have access to a car is a great help, but not necessarily if location is within public transport
A flexible attitude and willingness to take on challenges
