Robertson Bell are pleased to be partnering with a Public Sector organisation to recruit an Interim Head of Development and Policy on a short-term contract. Working remotely for the duration of the contract, you will be leading the team and supporting the organisation through a period of change.

Specific responsibilities include:
  • Lead corporate and regulatory policy and development activities to ensure development decision made are evidence based and documented appropriately.
  • Oversee and manage a wide range of development projects under undertaken across the organisation.
  • Respond to policy issues and consultants from other organisations in collaboration with a wide range of stakeholders.
  • Ensure the organisation has relevant horizon scanning mechanisms in place to adequately inform regulatory policy and development activities.
  • Developing and reviewing the organisations three-year strategy including leading the boarding through an annual strategic planning process.
  • Develop, implement, and manage developing strategic objectives and monitoring the progress of these.

The successful candidate will:
  • Have experience in a similar type of position, ideally within the NHS or wider public sector.
  • Be experience in managing and performance managing a team including coaching, developing, and motivating.
  • Have experience in drafting well argues, influential, evidence-based papers dealing with complex topics delivered to board level.
  • Possess extensive experience and/or an understanding across regulation, policy and governance.
  • Have exceptional communication skills with the ability to develop and maintain strong working relationships with all stakeholders.
  • Be immediately available or on a short notice period.
