Client:

Castlefield Recruitment are exclusively recruiting for an Interim Senior Contracts and Commercial Manager to join a Public Sector organisation in Leeds. This will be for an initial 5 months with a potential of longer term or permanent opportunities. The organisation offers agile/flexible working arrangements as standard, but this post will involve remote working for the duration of the contract. This position would be ideally suited to someone with extensive understanding of ‘best practice’ contract management within the Public Sector with effective communication skills and ability to drive benefits and efficiencies across the organsation.

Role:
  • Support the Head of Procurement and Commercial in ensuring that the commercial function delivers an effective contract management service, driving benefits and efficiencies
  • Responsible for determining policies and procedures meeting legal contracting standards to minimise supplier risk against the organisation
  • Evaluate and implement contract strategy aligned to EU procurement rules and regulations and act as the main point of contact for contract policy development
  • Lead the provision of an effective and high quality professional and well-co-ordinated strategic contract management framework, meeting all statutory requirements
  • Manage the contract support function, develop and manage the teams annual contract business plan, and analyse policy and data to determine the business of the Commercial Committee
  • Develop and implement an organisation wide contract management framework, analyse contract information to recommend savings areas to the Procurement Team and determine the impact of the UK decision to leave the EU

Person
  • Extensive understanding of contract management principles for value of contracts over c.£10m is essential
  • Strong communication and coaching skills are essential
  • Previous public sector experience is essential
