Are you an experienced Countryside or Environmental Conservation Lecturer looking for their next opportunity at an excellent College? Or, are you currently working within the countryside management/conservation sector looking to take your career in a different direction?

Abingdon & Witney College are looking for a conscientious individual with excellent interpersonal skills to deliver inspirational and innovative teaching and learning as part of our successful Land Based Industries team based at Common Leys Farm Campus.

You will be course leading and teaching on our City and Guilds Level 1 Land Based and Level 2 Diploma in Countryside and Environment. The role will also involve supporting the development of level 3 provision in this specialism.

You will be a skilled communicator, have excellent organisational skills and practical experience of working within the land-based industry. Confidence and experience with land-based machinery and tractors is essential.

You should preferably be qualified to degree level or at least to level 4 and hold some NPTC Certificates of Competence â€" preferably Chainsaw Operation.

It is highly desirable that you hold recognised teaching and assessing qualifications.

However, we are also looking for experienced candidates direct from industry, who are motivated to gain their teaching qualifications as we can offer excellent training and support you in gaining your AET Level 3 Qualification (Education & Training Qualification), within your first year of joining the College. Experience and a passion in wildlife conservation/habitat improvement would also be an advantage for this position.

You will maintain the highest standards of health and safety, using innovation within your teaching and assessing to deliver both practical and theory sessions to 14 - 19 year old students. The ability to be flexible and teach across a range of topics and levels is a must.
