Temporary Correspondence and Admin Officer - Sussex Police - Lewes - £9.13 per hour

The Office of the Sussex Police & Crime Commissioner is looking for an experienced administrator to deal with correspondence received by Commissioner deal with day to day administration duties.

Reporting to the Executive Assistant and Office Manager, your responsibilities will include:
  • Manage the generic inbox of the OSPCC and respond to queries
  • Respond to complaints received from the public by phone and email
  • Assist the Governance team in coordinating Police Appeal Tribunals
  • Maintain database for recording correspondence, analysing trends, highlighting common themes and areas of concern
  • Deal effectively with all personal visitors and telephone calls
  • Open, register and distribute post as appropriate
  • Provide support for the PCC, Chief Executive and CFO when the Executive Assistant is absent
  • Liaise with ICT on any issues and ensure supplies of stationery and toner are always available
  • Arrange meetings for the Senior Governance Manager and keep her informed of changes
  • Maintain and order stationery and catering stocks
  • To manage and monitor invoice and expense payments as directed by Chief Finance Officer

In order to be successful in this role you will have the following skills and experience:
  • Excellent literacy and numeracy
  • Computer literacy; able to use Microsoft Office and other packages, including word and excel
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Close attention to detail
  • Experience supporting staff at a senior strategic level including diary management and minute taking
  • High level skills in diplomacy, tact and negotiation
