THE JOB ROLE

Prospero Teaching are looking for experienced Teaching Assistants to work with our partner Secondary Schools in the Gloucestershire area.

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to join our partner schools and support pupils across a variety of subject areas. We are looking for enthusiastic individuals who are passionate about education and committed to helping students engage within the classroom and achieve results.

We are ideally looking for candidates with experience in Learning Support and have worked as a TA previously within a Secondary setting. The role would also be suitable for recent Graduates and Qualified TA's who are seeking to gain valuable classroom experience to help them progress further in the industry.

As a Teaching Assistant, you will be required to work closely with students who need additional educational support in the classroom and supervise alongside the class teacher to ensure work is carried out to the best of pupils' abilities. You will need to have strong behaviour management skills to ensure students focus within the classroom.

Working with Prospero Teaching you may be placed at a single school for a duration of time or provide day-to-day cover at a number of schools. Strong candidates will likely be asked to return to the same school on numerous occasions and potentially be made a permanent member of staff.

CONTRACT/POSITION DETAILS
  • Location - Gloucester, Gloucestershire
  • Position - Teaching Assistant
  • Type of work - Temporary, contract, permanent
  • Start date - ASAP
  • Duration / Likely Duration - day-to-day and long-term opportunities
  • Full time/part time - full-time & part-time hours available
  • Minimum rate of pay - minimum rate £70 per day
  • Hours - 8:30 am - 3.30 pm

EXPERIENCE, TRAINING AND QUALIFICATIONS
  • Teaching Assistant Qualification or relevant qualifications
  • Previous experience working in a UK school
  • Experience and strong understanding of working with students with SEN/SEMH needs
  • Up to date Safeguarding training issued in the last year (desirable however not essential)

TO BE ELIGIBLE FOR THIS ROLE THROUGH PROSPERO TEACHING, YOU MUST:
  • Hold Right to Work in the UK
  • Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application
  • Provide two professional child related references
