Valuation Reporting Controller - Product Control - Global Bank - £450 PAYE / £550 Umbrella - 11 months+ extensions

Product Control Valuation Reporting sits within the wider Product Control function.

The role is within the Valuation Reporting team which has representation within both London and Krakow. The London-based Valuations Reporting team is responsible for the consolidation of financial results calculated by Global Banking & Markets Finance, this includes in particular, producing the quarterly Prudent Valuation Adjustment (PVA) calculation and the Group Levelling calculation of fair valued positions. The team is also responsible for the review process of the Notes to Financial Statements produced across Global Banking & Markets as well as the production of Management Information, packs and papers for a number of internal business and governance committees.

Your responsibilities will include:
  • Review and oversight of the consolidation of Group Levelling & PVA calculations, including QA on work and review meetings.
  • Running the review process of all Global Banking and Markets-produced Notes to the Financial Statements.
  • Production of the “Fair Value of Financial Instruments carried at Fair Value” note to the Financial Statements.
  • Co-ordination of papers, results and information for Senior Finance Stakeholders.
  • Production of internal management information and responses to ad-hoc requests from senior management and other stakeholders.
  • Work to deliver wider product control objectives on quality, efficiency, adaptability and sustainability through streamlining the processes across London and Krakow.
  • Ensuring good governance, controls & sign-off of all processes performed within the team.
  • Leading internal projects to streamline and automate production.
  • Build relationships with key stakeholders including other Product Control Functions, and Front Office.

Principal Accountabilities:
  • Ensure the communication with stakeholders is seamless and consistent.
  • Ensure that the governance and controls for Valuations are adhered to.
  • Ensure Valuation Group FIM requirements and other applicable accounting / regulatory standards are met. Liaise with Internal/External audit and regulators where necessary.
  • Work to ensure consistency in policies/standards across sites/teams and implement strategies to improve consistency where it is not already in place.
  • Maintain focus on process optimization and identify opportunities to enhance cost efficiency where possible (e.g. automation, outsourcing, centralization etc).

Knowledge & Experience / Qualifications :
  • Demonstrable track record in top-tier global bank.
  • Good understanding and appreciation of Regulatory requirements and guidelines for Valuation activity.
  • Proven experience in a field requiring numerical & analytical proficiency.
  • Proven ability in working across multi-disciplinary and multi-cultural diverse work environments.
  • Experience of interacting with internal and external stakeholder groups (Business, Risk, Internal and External Audit, Compliance, Regulators).
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to articulate key valuation issues to Senior Stakeholders in a non-technical manner.
