Behavioural and Learning Support Assistant -SEN

Bond Education Cambridge is looking to appoint a talented and experienced Behavioural Support Assistant for a small specialist school in Cambridgeshire Fenland.

The role is initially a long-term temporary post but for the ideal candidate a permanent job is available.

The school works with students who have challenging behaviour and emotional needs who have been excluded from mainstream education. Applicants must feel comfortable working in this type of setting as the role offers a fantastic opportunity to contribute to the learning of students who may otherwise go without a good education. Whilst challenging, it is also a hugely rewarding position.

The role may suit those with SEBD/ Special Needs experience, those with experience of young offenders, the prison service or community outreach but also those who have worked with challenging behaviour in a mainstream secondary or primary setting.

Our client is looking for a candidate who:

• Has an ability to nurture and build rapport with learners

• Confident working with students with challenging behaviour

• Team teach trained or comfortable with manual restraint

• Have a firm but calm approach to de-escalation

Applicants will need to be available from November 2020.

The role is commutable form Peterborough, Wisbech, March, Huntingdon, Chatteris, Downham Market, Kings Lynn and the surrounding area.

Apply now and help us shape the future and learning opportunities of students who without your input may struggle to engage with their education.
