Pertemps are recruiting for Business Services Manager to work on an assignment at our well known Public Sector client based in Edinburgh.

£15.93 per hour
Starting ASAP for 3 months possible extension
37 hours per week

Reporting to the Assistant Heads of Operations and Finance & Business Services, you will support the efficient and effective delivery of operations, financial controls and business service practices and general administration of the Inquiry.

Main Duties:
  • Deputise, when required, for the Assistant Heads, to ensure the continuous delivery of the Inquiry's operations and business services
  • Line manage circa seven OBS staff of varying grades, in areas including service delivery, sickness absence and annual leave
  • Develop extensive knowledge of the Inquiry's information management systems, policies, standard operating procedures and working practices,
  • Support the Assistant Heads with developing, implementing and ensuring the accuracy and currency of OBS and, where applicable, Inquiry policies and standard operating procedures
  • Develop effective relationships, internally and externally, to ensure a productive working relationship with colleagues in the various business areas, along with external stakeholders, such as suppliers
  • Support the Assistant Heads through ensuring the provision of business services to all teams within the Inquiry
  • Develop extensive knowledge of the Inquiry's financial database and its contents, undertaking financial administration duties, both transactional and analytical
  • Administrative experience
  • Extensive experience in a high performing, fast paced, dynamic environment
  • Proven ability to work under pressure, plan, prioritise, manage competing demands and meet tight deadlines
  • A high degree of resilience
  • Ability to provide concise evidence based information for review and consideration
  • IT Literate, with strong knowledge in MS Office, including Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Good interpersonal, oral and written communication skills
  • Confident
  • Excellent skills in attention to detail
  • Flexibility to work across the various functions
  • Previous people management experience
