Social Worker Safeguarding - Luton, Bedfordshire

Connect2Luton are working exclusively with Luton Borough Council to recruit a Social worker for the Safeguarding team.

The role

As the Social Worker for the Children and Families safeguarding division, you will receive and coordinate complex referrals. To undertake the resulting assessments /devising care plans, arranging action and reviewing services for children and families, including influencing the direction of future services.

Key Responsibilities
  • As a family safeguarding Social worker you will use your strong skills to promote a great service to families and the children involved.
  • You will manage the case load effectively in planning, coordinating, monitoring and reviewing using your excellent knowledge of best practice and legislation.
  • No two days are the same with working in a diverse demographic within a town of diverse communities.


Key skills and experience
  • We need someone who has the ability to make professional judgements in a multi-disciplinary setting including negotiating resources.
  • You will need to be an effective communicator and able to work with a range of different service users and be able to lead and chair multi-disciplinary meetings and represent the agency in a formal setting or similar.
  • You will need to be able to influence service delivery by identifying gaps in service and be able to maintain high quality records, write clear concise reports and correspondence when dealing with complex issues.

Qualifications
  • Degree in Social Work, DIP SW, CQSW, or a recognised equivalent professional social work qualification.
  • Registered as a qualified social worker by the Health Care Professionals council (HCPC)

An enhanced DBS Certificate which is satisfactory to Luton Borough Council will be a condition of your appointment.
