Opportunity to interview for a temp to permanent contract working in a residential with Adults Complex needs

Support Worker - Adult Learning Disabilities & Mental Health Ashford Temporary to Permanent placement - Early and Late shifts £9.77 per hour (inclusive of holiday pay)

One of the country's largest care providers are seeking a support worker for one of their residential homes in Ashford. They are looking to bolster their team across the Ashford area with a number of vacancies they are looking to fill during this busy period. This company currently provides care across the UK to adults with learning disabilities, they offer a welcoming environment with skilled and experienced staff and management.

You will work within a friendly team offering care to higher functioning adults with learning disabilities with their daily routines, assisting and prompting individuals with their own personal care and engaging in activities. Residents may also need assistance with their sensory impairments it would advantageous if you have experience in BSL or Makaton. You will be required to be flexible with your availability as they are looking to cover a variety of different late and early shifts throughout the week. Depending on your shift pattern your duties will vary but you will typically be providing support for each individual based on their individual care plan. Work

Experience/Skills required:
  • A minimum of 6 months experience within a similar care setting in the last 2 years (Hays must gain references to cover this experience).
  • Experience in assisting with medication, preparing meals and planning and partaking in activities
  • It would be highly advantageous if you have experience with BSL or Makaton.
  • Experience with providing support and care to adults with learning disabilities.
  • NVQ Level 2 or Level 3 are desirable but not vital.
  • The sensitivity required to provide a trusting and stimulating environment along with being passionate about supporting people.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to be a good team player
  • A genuine desire to make a real difference in people's lives
  • You will be positive and willing to create and follow a personalised service to every individual that you support.
  • Be available to support in whatever capacity is required by an individual to nurture their path to independence.
