Blackstone Recruitment are looking for a Band 6 Occupational therapist for a community role in Essex.
This is a locum role in Essex, East London borders.
- To work within a Community Treatment team
- Full time hours - 08:30 - 16:30 (Part time may be considered) and Option for Weekend shifts also
- This is an ongoing role until at least 31st March 2021

Experiences ideally required for the Role:
- Locations: Two bases - Romford and Redbridge. The service runs across three boroughs (Redbridge, Barking & Dagenham, Havering).
The OT would be working as part of the Community Treatment Team (CTT) to avoid unnecessary admissions to the acute hospital settings. To deliver high quality therapy care as part of a multi professional service/team, within the accident and emergency and community setting working with patients towards rehabilitation, self-management and independence throughout the continuum of care. Including being professionally and legally accountable.
Using current evidence based therapy techniques, when based in the Accident and Emergency (A&E) setting, provide a thorough and rapid assessment, facilitating a quick and effective discharge home. Engage with community services to create a seamless journey for patients from the A&E setting to home.
When based within the community undertake first visits and holistic assessment of needs, and ongoing management of personalised care thus reducing the need for an acute admission.
Please note, driver’s license and access to a car is essential.
Key Skills Required
As a qualified Occupational Therapist, the following criteria are essential:
- Recognised Occupational Therapist degree
- HCPC registration
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
