Venn Group is currently recruiting for Treasury and Closedown Accountant to work from home on an interim basis for six months.

The role is paying £500 per day via an umbrella company inside of IR35.

You must have the following for the client to consider you for the position. It must have been conducted in a local authority setting as well.

Treasury Management

· Undertake the day to day management of the cash-flow position and produce short term & long term cash-flow forecasts enabling effective & efficient use of the liquid funds & ensure compliance with treasury management principle’s & policy

· Liaise with the approved treasury management broker(s) and maintain a daily record of money market rates & trends.

· Evaluate & undertake investment decisions to maximise investment interest in accordance with cash-flow predictions, money market trends and treasury management policies.

· Update & maintain the records of treasury management activities on a daily basis and complete all necessary paperwork to evidence treasury management investments.

· To deal with all correspondence relating to treasury management

· Initiate treasury management payments of approved investments and electronic creditor payments through online CHAPS payment system.

· To administer stopped cheque requests to the bank through online banking software.

· Provide all control records for independent monthly reconciliations of treasury management position to general ledger.

· Complete quarterly lending and borrowing returns from DCLG in accordance with required deadlines.

· Advise the Accountancy Manager, as necessary, of actual investment income achieved against budgeted target.

Final Accounts (Year End)

· Ensuring that accruals (Estimated Creditors and Debtors, Income in Advance and Prepayments) made by budget managers are correct.

· Preparation of Working Papers to the appropriate standard

· Ensure that all entries on the General Ledger represent a true and fair account of business undertaken.

· Accounts should follow the correct accounting treatment (e.g. International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) Code, Accounting Codes of Practice, Legislation and Government requirements)

· Co-ordinate and construct the Statement of Accounts (e.g. production of statements and notes to accounts) for both councils

· Whole of Government Accounts and other year end returns

· Manage the production of the Annual Statement of Accounts which include; producing the timetable for year end, incorporating the allocation of working papers to colleagues and ensuring all working papers are completed to a suitable standard and on time

· Managing work load of additional Staff used for producing the Annual Statement of Accounts such as Agency Staff or Accountants

· Managing the audit process for the external audit of the Annual Statement of Accounts which includes ensuring all audit queries are responded to within a 48 hour period. This also entails the supervision of colleagues both within EnCor and the remainder and external stakeholders who can help with answering audit queries.
