Positive Employment is currently recruiting an experienced Service Development Officer to work for our client based in Southwark.

The Service Development Officer will have a key role in providing analysis to identify and recommend areas for strategic and operational improvement and development. Delivering bespoke projects and transformation activity to ensure outcomes for children, young people and families continuously improve. The post holder will ensure that statutory, policy and best practice developments are reflected in robust and sustainable delivery models, strategies, systems, and procedures and will take responsibility for highlighting gaps and recommending improvements, from ongoing research and analysis. The post holder will help the monitoring of the programmes to provide information on and improve the quality and delivery of services.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Will be required to undertake reviews of key areas of delivery for children and families to ensure effectiveness, efficiency and compliance with legislation, developing best practice and procedures as required
  • Undertake projects to drive performance improvements and transformation across the Children & Families Division, covering services to families in need of early help, children and young people in need of help and protection, and children in care and care leavers
  • Monitor and report on programmes including on quality, milestones and spend
  • Communicate effectively at all levels from directors to children and families, influence decisions and negotiate successful outcomes of projects
  • Undertake research, collate and disseminate information on best practice, benchmarking and develop strategies, policies and procedures
  • Support practitioner leaders to implement reforms to systems, process and practice to deliver continuous improvement in outcomes for children and families

Working hours: 09:00 - 17:00, Monday to Friday

This is a Temporary role but could possibly become permanent
