Principal Resourcing are working on behalf one of our partnership 11-18 academies in Barnsley to recruit for a qualified Science Teacher. This is a full-time post which is due to commence after the Christmas holidays and will run until Easter 2021 as a minimum.

You will be joining an excellent faculty that has a relentless focus on raising achievement. You will be required to motivate all students to achieve or exceed their target grades and will be expected to be an active member of the Science department, offering extra-curricular sessions for all students.

The successful candidate will have a Chemistry specialism and will be able to teach from KS3-KS5. The role includes teaching both Chemistry and Applied Science at A Level, so previous experience teaching in KS5 is essential. You will be responsible for all planning, teaching and assessment involved with the role.

Within the role you are required to:
  • Teach up to KS5
  • Plan and deliver high standards of teaching and learning outcomes
  • Offer extra-curricular activities to complement the curriculum
  • Engage even the most reluctant of learners

What you require:
  • A UK teaching qualification such as PGCE/PGDE, SCITT, BEd or MEd with Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • A relevant BA/MA degree
  • Previous experience of delivering a Science at KS5
