REED Contracts are really pleased to be recruiting for an Operational Support Accountant for a large organisation based in Liverpool.

The suitable candidate will support the 'Senior Operational Support Accountant' in the provision of pro-active professionally qualified support and guidance to budget holders.

The duties will include:
  • Support the development of an ongoing professional relationship with budget holders; to ensure that the needs of the budget holder are fully satisfied, and SLAs are adhered to
  • Monitor and report upon the financial position of departments to relevant stakeholders using appropriate means of communication and financial analysis thus ensuring an effective and efficient service is provided
  • Assist the 'Senior Operational Support Accountant' in the provision of professional support and advice to budget holders over a wide range of subjects, with a clear focus on obtaining best value and best use of resources
  • Provide support in facilitating the balance of operational priorities against corporate financial requirements in order to achieve local performance requirements
  • Attendance at key meetings to provide support and advice on an ad hoc basis - such meetings would include local Command Team meetings, Star Chamber Review meetings and Local Partner meetings
  • Review and monitor expenditure on supplies and services and produce recommendations for improved efficiencies where appropriate, thus enabling effective financial management of the budget
  • Maintain professional working relationships with relevant support departments eg. HR Ops Team, Financial Ops Team, Local Admin Teams, Vehicle Fleet, Estates and Information Systems

The ideal candidate will be:
  • Part / Fully Qualified Accountant
  • Experience of working within a large and complex financial environment, with specific knowledge and experience of fulfilling a budget management role
  • Evidence of working under pressure with clear experience of self-motivation and workload prioritisation
  • Advanced communication skills to deal effectively with a variety of potential stakeholders

This is an excellent opportunity to join a fast paced team on a 3 month temporary basis.

The hourly rate of pay will be £16.62 per hour (paye).
