Key Stage 1 specialist teacher required

Your new school
We are currently recruiting experienced and newly qualified KS1 specialist teachers for roles in local primary schools for starting middle of December 2020. The next few months are going to be crucial with many schools not yet knowing the staffing requirements they may need in the new year.

Hays Education are seeking teachers looking for flexible work or a full time roles within Year 1 or 2. We will support you to find roles that suit your own personal requirements, whether you are looking for casual supply work, a long-term post or a permanent teaching role.

Your new role
As a KS1 supply teacher with Hays Education, you will be given the opportunity to work in local primary schools on an adhoc, part and full-time basis. You will be offered work to suit your own personal circumstances whilst still maintaining a healthy work life balance. For adhoc supply work, you will be required to arrive early, deliver lessons from pre-planned work, manage classroom behaviour and mark all books before leaving at the end of the school day. For long-term roles, you may be expected to plan your lessons alongside the schools Key Stage 1 team, as well as being involved in wider aspects of school life including attending staff meetings, parents evenings and report writing.

What you'll need to succeed
in order to succeed, you will need recent, reference-able experience teaching within Y1 or Y2. Expertise in phonics would be advantageous and knowledge of different phonics schemes. A good understanding of KS1 curriculum is imperative as well as KS1 assessments including phonics screening and Year 2 SATs would be beneficial
