We're looking for someone organised, effective and resilient to join us in a Junior Director Support role.

You'll help us achieve our ambitious goals by supporting our Digital Directors, helping them be at their best and spend their valuable time where it is most needed.

You'll need to be strong with Microsoft Office tools like Excel, Outlook and Teams, be able to provide great admin support and have the confidence and credibility to represent really senior people.

Diaries. Work. Prioritisation.

You will be supporting Digital Leaders within our flagship Universal Credit programme, and ensuring the smooth and efficient running of the Director's office.

You'll work autonomously and with initiative. You'll take on diary management for our leaders, prioritising requests and scheduling meetings. You'll also provide administrative and office management support to the wider teams.

This is a really fast-paced, demanding and technical environment, with great energy and a culture that is different to what you might expect in DWP.

As you grow into the role you'll develop your knowledge and skills, so as well as managing senior inboxes and diaries you'll be able to resolve queries and deal with issues yourself.

You will:
  • Manage the Directors/ Deputy Directors' diaries to ensure that priority meetings and events take place
  • Manage the inbox of Directors/ Deputy Directors to ensure high priority and urgent matters are dealt with
  • Hold weekly one-to-one sessions with Directorsto help them understand their calendar and manage engagements, accommodation and travel.
  • Coordinate and manage internal and external meetings, organising conference calls, circulating agendas and key documents.
  • Collect and collate appropriate information and data on behalf of the Director and SLT for regular and ad-hoc business requests.

What skills and experience do you need?
  • Experience of providing support services to senior leaders including collating and providing papers.
  • Experience of managing a Director/Deputy Director's diary and mailbox.
  • Experience of working in a fast paced environment.
  • Experience of working flexibly and adapting to change.
  • Experience of managing conflicting demands and priorities.
  • Knowledge and experience in using Microsoft Outlook, OneNote and Skype for Business.
