Variable hours contract up to 7 hours per week

WHAT WE DO

The University Centre Leeds offers a wide range of higher level qualifications from foundation degrees, top-up degree's and apprenticeships. The HE Health & Social Care department are looking to recruit a part time 0.8 HE H&SC Lecturer to help support the team to deliver content across the foundation degree, top-up degree and apprenticeship provision. This is a key appointment and will require candidates to demonstrate that they are suitably qualified and experienced within Health & Social Care.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

  • You will be involved in all aspects usually concerned with a HE teaching post i.e. - delivery of lessons (both remote and face-face) across the HE Health & Social Care curriculum.
  • Marking and assessment of student work
  • Offer excellent pastoral care
  • Up to date CPD / research informed teaching
  • Regular liaison with curriculum team to ensure best outcomes are achieved for every student


YOUR PROFILE

  • Outstanding skills such as: -Working well in a team
  • Organisational and communication skills
  • Enthusiastic and engaging personality
  • Excellent knowledge and experience within the Health & Social Care sector
  • Previous teaching/assessing experience highly desirable
  • A Masters qualification in a relevant Healthcare related subject is highly desirable
  • Level 2 English and Maths (or equivalent) or commitment to gaining within 24 months of commencement of employment
  • Hold a minimum of a L6 Health & Social Care related qualification
  • Assessor A1 Award / TAQA (or working towards TAQA) would be desirable
  • Experience of creating and maintaining professional relationships with employers
