Responsible to: Programme Leader

Hours: Part-time 0.6 FTE (Fixed-term up to 12 months to cover maternity)

Salary: £25,080 (L6) - £28,639 (L9) per annum

Status: Part Time, fixed term (Maternity Cover)

This is an exciting time for our University Centre Reaseheath as our Higher Education programmes continue to grow and develop. We are seeking enthusiastic and motivated individuals to join our team of teaching staff who are genuinely passionate about their subject and about supporting every student to reach their full potential. Working within the University Centre, the successful candidate should expect to deliver across a range of Animal and Equine Science based degree programmes, but we would be particularly interested in someone with expertise in areas such as; veterinary nursing, animal behaviour/psychology, human-animal relationships, animal assisted interventions, canine behaviour and general animal biology.

The successful candidates will hold a degree and ideally a postgraduate qualification (minimum of MSc) in an animal science discipline. They need to be confident speaking to groups in a way which is engaging and informative, be able to create high quality teaching and assessment materials and willing act in a pastoral capacity as a personal academic tutor to a group of undergraduates. Good team working and communication skills are essential. Part time hours will be considered.

Please note this role constitutes ‘regulated activity’ as defined by the Protection of Freedom Act 2012. The successful candidate will therefore be required to undertake an enhanced DBS check with barred list information prior to starting employment. You must have the right to work in the UK and will be required to provide evidence to support this.
