We have an opportunity for an experienced administrator to join our team as a Senior Accreditation and Approvals Officer within the CIBSE Membership Department. Reporting into and working with the Head of Strategic Projects, you will be responsible for the end-to-end management of our busy Accreditation and Training and Development portfolios.

About CIBSE:

The Chartered Institution of Building Services Engineers (CIBSE) is a charity and a growing membership body with over 20,000 members. Members work across a range of specialisms within the engineering sector to improve the performance of buildings.

Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) and companies seek CIBSE accreditation as a mark of assurance that their programmes meet the standards set for our profession, by the Engineering Council. Accreditation is an accepted and rigorous process that commands respect both in the UK and internationally. It helps students choose quality degree programmes and validates employers who show demonstrable commitment to their employees’ professional development. This function plays a crucial part in CIBSE’s wider strategic goals of growing membership and maintaining professional competence.

About the role:

In this role you will be CIBSE’s main contact between HEIs and companies with Training & Development schemes. You will provide accreditation advice and guidance to our key contacts, manage our busy annual accreditation/approvals schedule, and arrange and attend accreditation visits for existing and new programmes alike. The role involves regular reporting on accreditation decisions to HEIs and companies, working towards set deadlines and maintaining accurate and relevant data.

Previous experience working in an accreditation role is welcome, however not necessary. We are seeking someone who is self-motivated, with the confidence to learn complex administrative, standards and reporting processes with ease and has the ability to identify opportunities for continuous process improvement. The role also requires excellent communication skills, both written and verbally, to a broad range of stakeholders within HEIs, companies and CIBSE volunteers.

This role is normally based in our Balham office, however due Covid-19 restrictions we are currently working remotely. Pending any lifting of current restrictions, this role usually requires regular travel across the UK including occasional overnight stays for accreditation and company visits. Accreditation visits outside the UK may also be required.
