REED are seeking an experienced Childrens Registered Manager ASAP!

This is a temporary role for a period of 6 months.

You will be working for a Local Authority based in Leeds.The Childrens home caters up to 4 young people between the ages of 11 - 17 years, catering for both males and females

Full time hours / Ideal candidate would need to be flexible.

£20.31 PAYE

Job Purpose:

To take the lead role in the day to day leadership and management of the home in the provision of a safe care service for children and young people that meets children’s homes regulations, children’s homes quality standards and complies with Leeds City Council and the home’s internal policies, procedures and guidance.

To assist children in residential child care to be loved, happy, healthy, safe from harm and able to develop, thrive and fulfil their potential.

To value and nurture each child as an individual with talents, strengths and capabilities that can develop over time.

To foster positive relationships, encouraging strong bonds between children and staff in the home on the basis of jointly undertaken activities, shared daily life, domestic and non-domestic routines and established boundaries of acceptable behaviour.

To help children and young people to express their views, wishes and feelings in relation to matters affecting their care and welfare and their lives.

Responsibilities -Ensure the home is managed within the allocated budget following the Local authority Financial Procedure Rules, Procurement and Contract procedure ensuring money is spent wisely and effectively. This will also include, where required, the post holder applying for and using a Purchase Card in line with the Council’s policies and procedures.

Ensure HR policies and procedures relating to managing staff are undertaken including managing attendance, performance management and grievance and disciplinary procedures.

To lead on the recruitment, selection, induction, supervision, training, development and support processes for Deputy Managers, Senior Practitioners and Residential Practitioners. Support student placements.

Ability to pass information effectively, accurately and concisely between service users, carers, colleagues and other agencies

Ability to provide clear and decisive leadership and direction.

Ability to contribute to the professional development of staff through appraisal, supervision, in house and external training and by example.Experience requiredWithin the last 5 years, worked for at least 2 years in a position relevant to the residentialCare of children and worked for at least one year in a role requiring the supervision and management of staff working in a care role.Care planning and case management.

Qualifications:

To be educated to degree level or equivalent professional qualification plus NVQ/QCF Level 3 Diploma in Residential Child Care.

A social work qualification is an advantage but not essential to appointment. Within 2 years of appointment, if you do not already hold the qualification, to have completed Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management in Residential Childcare.Full driving licence is required.
