We are looking for an Administrator to help support the Clinical Coding Team.

This is a full-time position working Monday-Friday 8.00 am-16.00am or 9.00am - 17.00pm. The hourly rate is £9.21ph

Responsibilities will cover a number of areas such as:
  • To provide support to the Clinical Coding Department by ensuring a constant flow of discharged patient case notes are located and collected on a daily basis from ward and other areas from around the hospital site.
  • To be responsible for updating the location of all casenote arriving in the department using the electronic casenote tracking function within PAS.
  • To be responsible for identifying outstanding uncoded activity using the electronic Lost Income Report on the Qlikview PTL.
  • To ensure all case notes/clinical information relating to outstanding uncoded activity is located and retrieved in a timely manner thus allowing the coding process to be completed in accordance with departmental and national deadlines.
  • To be responsible for providing administrative and clerical support to the clinical coding team by acting as the central point for all casenote queries and requests received via email and telephone.
  • To bring to the attention of the Clinical Coding Manager, any available clinical information relating to outstanding uncoded episodes, that may support the coding of the activity.
  • To maintain a detailed knowledge of PAS and all policies relating to its use to promote efficiency and demonstrate compliance.
  • To solve discrepancies pertaining to casenote tracking queries.
  • To investigate and coordinate searches for missing casenote upon receipt of urgent email or telephone requests.
  • To liaise with ward-based clerks, secretarial and other administration staff, maintaining a good working relationship with all concerned, in order to aid the timely retrieval of case notes to support departmental deadlines.
  • To assist the Clinical Coding Management Team by actioning (ad-hoc) requests for casenotes such as those required for audit and research purposes, including pulling casenotes from the Health Records library
