Purpose of the role

Community provision is at the heart of everything we do in the WEA and due to the pandemic, many of our existing partners have not been in the position to engage with us in recent months. We are expecting an increase in the need for courses targeted at adults across Norfolk/Suffolk, especially in the coastal towns of Great Yarmouth and Lowestoft. With expertise in community adult education and local knowledge of the geography and demographics in the above areas, could you help us to grow our provision?

Key areas of responsibility

To develop partnership working with a focus on the Great Yarmouth/Lowestoft areas of Norfolk/Suffolk.

To deliver provision that meets the needs of adults in the above areas.

To contribute to the online digital course offers of the region.

To carry out all necessary quality and compliance requirements in relation to the programme you manage.

To line manage and support the development of tutors.

About you

You will have extensive experience of working in the community and/or Adult Education.

You will hold a minimum level 4 teaching qualification.

Ideally you will hold an IQA qualification or be prepared to work towards one.

You will have a proven track record in building community partnerships.

You will have experience of line management.

You will have an awareness of OFSTED and other quality frameworks including compliance with Awarding Bodies.

You are able to regularly travel throughout Norfolk/Suffolk.

You will be digitally confident, with experience of delivering and managing online delivery.
