Lancashire County Council have a successful ongoing partnership with Reed Education to provide academic and non-academic staff to secondary schools across Lancashire and Cumbria. Following the announcement before Christmas that secondary schools must conduct COVID-19 testing for both pupils and staff, the LTA are preparing to help you with the challenge ahead. We have had a number of enquiries from Headteachers today to discuss staffing to support with the mass testing.

In line with the NHS Guidance schools we have a school based in Lancaster who are looking for a Part Time COVID Tester. Due to schools only being open to Key Worker pupils and staff the role will initially be mornings with the view to hours being increased when school is back to full capacity. School are looking for experienced COVID Testers in this role ideally however they would consider transferable skills from different roles. The role would include not limited the following responsibilities;
  • Supporting and advising the testing process.
  • Responding quickly to all students needs while reassuring individuals throughout the testing process.
  • Confidently performs the throat and nasal swab testing procedure if required dependant on the setting in line with current clinical standards, while adhering to hygiene, Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and school standards
  • Efficiently delivers the daily testing plan, which may include stock management, completing and testing administration.
  • Ensures cleaning of processing bays.
