Role Title : Progress Coach - Sport and Public Services

Location : Deeside

Contract Type : Full Time, Term Time only (37 hours per week, 52 weeks per year), Fixed Term until 25/06/21

Salary Points : £21,208 - £25,028 based on a salary assessment.

Overview of Role

We are seeking a Progress Coach who will work alongside our teaching staff to ensure that all learners receive the very best learning experience possible.

As a Progress Coach you will work with a caseload of learners; help them develop appropriate strategies to ensure they remain engaged in learning and help them to become resilient, resourceful, and develop an appetite for success and progression.

You will be expected to monitor attendance, set targets, liaise with parents and carers and act as their advocate with internal and external agencies, support their wellbeing, positive mental health, and help them to make the right life choices.

If you have any experience of working with third-party support agencies such as CAMHS, Social Services, Youth Justice, Youth Work, charities then this would be advantageous, as would having an understanding of safeguarding legislation.

Essential Requirements
  • Qualified to a minimum of degree level or Level 3 (for identified subjects) in a relevant subject area.
  • You will ideally be a qualified teacher and hold either a PGCE, Cert ED or C&G 7407 or be willing to work towards one of these.
  • It is essential you have strong literacy and numeracy skills at Level 2 or above.
  • Proficient in MS Office and ideally in Google application and using the internet.
  • You will be expected to demonstrate a passion for empowering and enabling young people.
  • It is essential you have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, a strong team player, displaying energy and enthusiasm in the learning environment.
