Timeplan Education are currently recruiting for a 2:1 SEND Teaching Assistant / SEND TA / SEN TA

to support a year 9 pupil outside the classroom. The pupil has complex SLD and is non-verbal, so the 2:1 SEND Teaching Assistant / SEND TA / SEN TA will need to have previous experience with SEND. At present, the pupil is not accessing learning within the classroom, so the 2:1 SEND Teaching Assistant / SEND TA / SEN TA will be working in partnership with another TA to support the pupil outside the class. In addition, the pupil can exhibit some challenging behaviours, so the ideal candidate will be TeamTeach trained and know how to deescalate situations. This is a unique role at an exceptional all-through special needs school. Continued professional development courses and training sessions are run weekly to upskill their staff. This is a long-term, full-time role to commence immediately, with the view of going permanent for the right candidate.

Job Role
  • 2:1 SEND Teaching Assistant / SEND TA / SEN TA
  • Working on a 2:1 basis with a non-verbal year 9 pupil with complex SLD
  • May be some personal care involved
  • Assisting the class teacher in duties such as preparing resources and managing pupil behaviour
  • Providing feedback on pupil progress
  • Full-time, long-term role to commence February 2021
  • Daily rate from £80 per day (dependant on experience)

Job Requirements
  • Must be TeamTeach trained
  • Eligibility to work in the UK
  • Experience working within a school environment
  • Knowledge or previous experience supporting pupils with SEND (desirable)
  • Valid DBS/Police Checks
  • Effective classroom management, curriculum knowledge, and good communication skills
  • Adaptable and flexible personality
