A Global Bank are now hiring for a Business Analyst for Wholesale Banking. This is a 12-month assignment paying £523 per day PAYE. This role is based in London.

Within the Wholesale Banking Basel III Reform Programme, this role sits under the Go Live Readiness work stream with particular focus on Parallel Run and analytics to support key Programme prioritization and scope decisions at various levels.

The Go Live Readiness streams is mandated to ensure a controlled "go-live" transition aligned with Finance and CMB strategy. The deliverables are structured around 3 main sub-streams: Parallel Run, Data Management & Controls and CMB Quantitative Impact Study (QIS).

The role holder will support the Materiality Framework and Prioritisation Cycle which aims at
  • Influencing strategic Programme priorities and scope to maximise benefit realisation against cost of delivery
  • Justifying and evidencing decisions made, especially to support cases where the programme will not deliver
  • Periodically review (where necessary) continued appropriateness of decisions made

The role-holder will report to the Go Live Readiness Project Manager and will work closely with a wide variety of global and / or regional stakeholders across Basel III Reform Programme and various departments (Risk, Finance and Technology in addition to GB and CMB).

Essential skills and knowledge required:

Domain Knowledge
  • Credit Risk and RWAs, including calculation orchestration, governance and controls
  • Data Management and Controls
  • Regulatory and Basel III framework
  • Change Management approaches, in particular Agile
  • Governance and Controls applied to project delivery and change management
  • Business process and data efficiencies (desirable)
  • Strategy and business cases, including cost and benefit analysis

  • Highly proactive and able to work independently with minimal supervision
  • RWAs process and related data quality issues understanding and resolution coordination
  • Analyse complex situations and document risk, issues and solution proposals sometime
  • Problem solving and definition of positive way forwards, sometime based on assumptions
  • Taking ownership of the deliverables and achieving desired outcome within agreed timescales
  • Ability to escalate appropriately to management and familiarity with project management approaches, tools and phases of a project lifecycle
  • Excellent communication and ability to positively interact with a wide variety of stakeholders
  • Experience of working with disparate teams and resources located remotely
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills (including Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Visio)

  • Experience of adhering to best practice programme governance and methodology globally
  • Experience of reporting project progress and book of work via usage of up to date tools like JIRA and Confluence
  • Experience of a large and diverse corporate environment of similar scale and geographical challenges
  • Experience of challenging environment where relationship building and maintenance is key to succeed
