Seven Social Care are looking for a temporary Strategic Health & Safety Lead based in Morpeth, Northumberland.

The role:

Act as the Strategic Leader of the Corporate Health and Safety function. Develop, review and provide advice on all policies and strategies relating to Health and Safety issues. Provide effective leadership, coordination and management of the service. Make a positive andeffective contribution to the Corporate Management of the Group and service. Feed into the wider Strategic Leadership team and work cross departmentally.

Key Responsibilities:
    To lead the development of a range of all aspects of operational Health and Safety management for all services across the council.
    To develop, lead, manage and coordinate the delivery of the Health and Safety Strategy of Northumberland County Council

    To lead, manage and coordinate, as appropriate, ensuring delivery of a wide range of Health and Safety interventions with strategic purpose linked directly to the strategic priorities for Northumberland County Council.

    To lead and manage the Health and Safety team who provide frontline H&S support across the Council.

    To provide support and development to the senior management team and wider operational teams across Northumberland County Council

    To ensure the Operational H&S Team are focused on ensuring high quality service provision

    Applicant Requirements:
    • Qualifications: Degree or equivalent.
    • Experience: 2+ years working in a similar role.
    • Compliance: Up to date documents.
    • Travel: Clean UK driving license with the ability to commute to and from work independently.
    • Hours: 37.5 hours p/w.
